Horseshoes
A blacksmith is working to fit and shape a steel horseshoe onto each of the horse’s hooves. The blacksmith also cleans, trims, and shapes a horse’s hooves. Since blacksmiths spent much of their time shoeing horses, blacksmiths gained a lot of knowledge about diseases that horses would sometimes get. A blacksmith would double as a veterinarian, in order to treat and prevent hoof related injuries so that the horse could stay healthy and in good working condition for field work.
